Horse Barn
The Horse Barn is at the heart of Sugar Creek’s horseback riding and horse programs, giving campers and retreat guests the opportunity to learn about horses through hands-on experiences. From grooming and barn chores to riding lessons and trail rides, the horse program combines outdoor adventure with opportunities to build confidence, responsibility, and practical horsemanship skills.
The barn is also an important part of Sugar Creek’s year-round community. Volunteers help with grooming, riding, winter boarding, and maintaining the barns, fences, and pastures. Specialty programs such as Horse Camp and adult Horse Retreats provide opportunities to spend extended time working with the horses and developing riding and horse-care skills.
