Fundraising Events

Good Fun. Great Purpose.
Real Community.

At Sugar Creek, fundraising isn't a formality — it's a celebration! Every event brings our community together around something bigger than a dollar amount: the belief that every kid deserves a transformational camp experience.

Support the Mission Through Events That Matter

There are a lot of ways to give to Sugar Creek — and some of the best ones involve a round of golf, a quilt you can't stop eyeing, or your next birthday. Our fundraising events exist to make support feel joyful and communal, not transactional.

Whether you show up in person, register online, or simply set up a Facebook fundraiser on your birthday, every act of generosity helps us keep camp accessible, excellent, and faith-filled for every camper who walks through our gates.

Sugar Creek is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 39-1156303).
Your participation and gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Annual Quilt Auction & Fall Festival

60th Anniversary Celebration & Quilt Auction — September 18-20, 2026

This is the big event Sugar Creek supporters look forward to all year… Every September, our beautiful bluff valley comes alive with the energy of hundreds of guests who gather for a day of food, fellowship, and friendly bidding on one-of-a-kind handmade quilts!

The Quilt Auction is more than a fundraiser — it's a reunion — including with those kindred spirits you are about to meet! Camper families, alumni, partner congregations, and community neighbors come together to celebrate how you, as supporters, help get kids outdoors and surround them with God’s love, and make sure that keeps going strong.

What's Included

  • Live quilt auction featuring handcrafted quilts donated by our community

  • 5K Trail Run through the scenic Sugar Creek bluffs (coming in 2027!)

  • Country Store with handmade goods, baked items, and camp merchandise

  • Pony rides and kids' activities

  • Delicious BBQ and food vendors

  • Fellowship, worship, and the warm Sugar Creek welcome

  • This year (2026!) the Quilt Auction takes place Saturday, Sept. 19 during the 60th Anniversary Celebration Weekend on Sept. 18-20, 2026.

Annual Golf Fundraiser

Tee up for a cause. Our Annual Golf Fundraiser brings together golfers of all skill levels for a friendly, fun-filled day on the course — where every stroke supports Sugar Creek's mission and every hole is an excuse to connect with great people.

This is a fun event for individuals, church groups, corporate teams, and anyone who wants to combine a love of the game with a love for this ministry. Prizes, camaraderie, and the satisfaction of knowing your round of golf is sending a kid to camp.

Why Participate

  • Fun scramble format — all skill levels welcome

  • Great prizes and on-course contests

  • Lunch and refreshments included

  • An easy way for businesses and organizations to support the ministry

Horse Project — Year-Round Giving

Sugar Creek's horses are beloved by campers — and keeping them healthy, happy, and part of the program takes real resources. The Horse Project is a creative, congregation-friendly way to make that happen.

We send your church group a horse poster divided into squares. Each square represents a contribution, and as your congregation fills them in, you collectively cover the cost of care, feed, and facilities for one of our horses. It's tangible, visual, and deeply satisfying to watch the poster fill up.

How It Works

  • Request a Horse Project poster for your congregation or group

  • Members fill in squares to symbolize their contribution

  • Every filled square helps fund the care and upkeep of Sugar Creek's horses

  • Great for Sunday school classes, youth groups, and congregational campaigns

  • Available all year — no specific event date required

When: Year-round

Birthday Club — Turn Your Birthday into a Gift

Here's the easiest fundraiser you'll ever do: on your birthday, set up a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser for Sugar Creek Bible Camp. Your friends and family give to camp instead of buying you a gift — and you get the joy of knowing your birthday made a real difference for a camper.

It costs you nothing. It takes five minutes to set up. And as a thank you for joining the Birthday Club, we'll send you a Sugar Creek merchandise item of your choice. Because your birthday deserves to be celebrated — and so does generosity.

How to Join the Birthday Club

  • Let us know you're setting up a Facebook Birthday Fundraiser for Sugar Creek

  • Create your fundraiser on Facebook — it takes less than 5 minutes

  • Share it with friends and family and watch the support roll in

  • We'll send you a camp merchandise item of your choice as a thank you

When: Your Birthday — anytime!
