Covered Wagons Village

Overview

Step into the adventure of the Oregon Trail at Sugar Creek’s Covered Wagons Village. The covered wagons provide a fun, rustic way to experience camp, with simple bunk beds and mattresses inside each wagon. It’s a memorable overnight setting that brings campers closer to the outdoors while giving them a taste of what life on the trail might have been like.

The wagons are used for programs such as Wagoneers and Horse Camp, where campers spend their days exploring Sugar Creek, riding horses, building fires, swimming, hiking, and gathering around the campfire.

  • Covered wagons with simple bunk beds and mattresses

  • Each wagon sleeps up to 8 people

  • 4 bunks / 8 beds per wagon

  • Nearby outhouse

  • Shower house a short walk away

  • Included as a lodging option during Family Camp

  • Home base for the Wagoneers program for campers entering grades 6–7

  • Also used for Horse Camp

  • Wagoneers experience includes Oregon Trail–style activities, campfire cooking, horseback riding, archery, swimming, hiking, and more
